CMAT 2024 Exam Analysis

CMAT 2024 was concluded today on 15th May 2024. The exam was held in two shifts from 9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM. Overall, the difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate.

CMAT 2024 Exam Pattern & Good Attempts

The marking scheme of the paper remains unchanged at +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer. The below table presents the breakup of the 100 questions:

CMAT 2024: Section-Wise Exam Analysis

The CMAT syllabus 2024 is divided into five sections. The CMAT exam comprises a total of 100 questions, with 20 questions in each section, get an in-depth analysis of CMAT 2024:


CMAT 2024: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation (QT & DI)

The section consisted of 20 questions. The overall difficulty level was EASY. A good percentage of questions were from Arithmetic. There was exactly one data interpretation set of three questions which was easy too. Overall, an attempt of 15 questions in this section will be considered a good attempt.

CMAT 2024: Logical Reasoning (LR)

There were 14 math-based reasoning questions. The 6 questions from the Logical Reasoning part consisted of topics like Statement–assumption, statement–argument, statement–assertion, syllogism, and analogy.

CMAT 2024: Language Comprehension (LC)

The difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate with a few tricky questions from the vocabulary section. Also, some questions were statement-based and few were of the form Match the following. However, a well-read student would have completed it easily. There was one RC of two questions which was also fairly easy.

CMAT 2024: Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The innovation & entrepreneurship section consisted of the Business GK questions involving definitions of an entrepreneur, EDP, and basic concepts of business terms. Anyone with an entrepreneurial/business mindset could attempt 12+ questions in this section.

CMAT 2024: General Awareness (GA)

Much like last year, this year also, the General Awareness Section was dominated by questions from Static GK. Some of the questions were tricky. There were hardly any questions from Current Affairs. The broad topics covered in Static GK were Indian History, Polity, and Science.
