The guiding vision at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts( SSLA) is to foster an environment that encourages all its members to participate in the learning process. SSLA offers a 4-year full-time Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Arts) Honours Degree and Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts) Honours Degree programme.
The B.A/B.Sc. degree awarded depends on the Major specialisation chosen.
SSLA offers students the opportunity to study a four-year full-time Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Arts) Honours Degree and Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts) Honours Degree program covered over eight semesters.
It is mandatory to complete a minimum of 198 credits to graduate with a B.A / B.Sc (Liberal Arts) Honours degree. The programme requires a student to complete:
20 Cores (compulsory courses including Community Outreach Project and a Seminar Paper)
+ 6 Electives
+ 1 Minor* specialization (6 papers)
+ 1 Major specialization subject (12 papers, including an Internship and a Research Project)
+ Additional Minor (6 papers) / Additional Electives (6 courses) / Double Major (10 papers) without the Minor*.(Pointers)
Certain forms of knowledge are essential for every student, therefore, there are 20 Core compulsory courses spread across eight semesters and ensure a holistic and practical knowledge applicable across professions. Some of these skill-oriented courses include
Specialization courses (which are in the form of Majors and Minors) are chosen in the 2nd semester and are taught from the 3rd semester onwards. The Majors and Minors offered at SSLA are:
The degree awarded shall be a Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Arts) Honours for those majoring in courses such as Economics, Business Studies, Media Studies, Sociology, English, Psychology, Political Science & Public Policy, Philosophy, International Relations and Anthropology.
The degree awarded shall be a Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts) Honours for those majoring in courses such as Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Studies.
All students seeking admission to SSLA should write SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) OR should apply with their SAT score
All students must register on the SET website and then make this choice of SET or SAT
CBSE, ICSE, HSC: Students should have passed with at least 50% (Open Category) and 45% (SC, ST) in the 12th Standard
IB Diploma: students must complete examinations in six subject areas (3 at HL and 3 at SL) and successfully complete the core requirements (EE, CAS, TOK). Successful IB diploma candidates receive an IB Diploma and the transcript with Diploma Results stating “Diploma Awarded”
Eligibility: student must have a minimum of 24 credits and has passed a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL)
GCE/IGCSE/GCSE: student must have a minimum of 5/4 subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at ORDINARY(“O”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”)LEVEL

Application Process:
The Admission 2020 batch to Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts can be done in two ways.
Option A - SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test)
Option B - SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test)
Once the shortlist of first round (SET/SAT) is declared, SSLA will declare its shortlist of candidates eligible for the second step - PI WAT. The PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test) will be conducted at SSLA, Pune.
The Personal Interaction will be followed by a WAT(Writing Ability Test), which is a short subjective-answer based test.
Based on the combined scores of SET/SAT and PI-WAT, the Merit Lists will be published.
