Indian Institute of Management (IIM Ranchi) is the ninth IIM to be established. Continuing the tradition of imparting education in management studies, IIM Ranchi was set in the year 2010. In these recent years, IIM Ranchi has produced many future managers with its various programmes. Following programmes are offered by IIM Ranchi.

IIM-Ranchi Eligibility
Eligibility For PGDM
- The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)] awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or must possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
- Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. The candidates are required to have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent till the latest examination.
Eligibility For PGP Ex
- The program is designed for working mid-level executives from reputed organizations operating out of emerging economies. All the applicants must have at least a Bachelor's degree in any discipline and with work experience in managerial / supervisory roles. Work experience of 5 years and more is desirable.
IIM Ranchi Admission Procedure

For PGDM
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT or GMAT scores and their previous academic performance.
Shortlisted candidates are called for a round of Personal Interview (PI). Candidates will finally be selected on the basis of their performance in PI and the CAT/GMAT score.

For PGPEx
The selections are based on performance in written test and personal interview.

For FPM
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above.
Shortlisted candidates face a round of Personal Interview after which the final selections to the FPM Programme are made.

Admission in PGDM is done in three stages at IIM Ranchi
- CAT score
- Profile Scoring
- PI-WAT

Step 1: CAT Score: Firstly, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT exam. The weightage given to your scores is 50%. The minimum sectional and overall cut-off for IIM Ranchi are given below:

Step 2: Personal Interview & Written Ability Test (PI & WAT): Candidates selected on the basis of performance in CAT are called for second round PI-WAT. Candidates should prepare whole heartedly for this round, as it carries 30% weightage.
Step 3: Profile Scoring: In IIMs, some points are awarded for gender diversity, academic diversity and work experience. It carries 20% of the weightage in the selection.
