SJMSOM Admission Procedure

For Master of Management Programme

1. 1. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their score in the CAT exam (GMAT for international applicants).
2. 2. The shortlisted candidates are then invited to appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview

For Executive MBA

1. 1. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their application. As part of application, Applicants have to provide two recommendations written by someone they know in professional capacity as well as a Commitment/ Sponsorship letter.
2. 2. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a round of Personal Interview.

For Doctoral Programme

1. 1. Candidates applying to the Doctoral Program at SJMSOM are required to submit a sample of their recently published writings on relevant topics or a 1500-word proposal on the proposed area of research.
2. 2. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test followed by an interview.

SJMSOM Eligibility and Selection Criteria for M.Mmgt

For the batch of 2017-19

Candidates securing a minimum section-wise and aggregate percentile scores in CAT as mentioned below in Table, will be considered for short listing for WAT/PI process.

Phase 1: Composite score to be used for Short listing for WAT (Written Ability Test) and PI (Personal Interview)

The shortlist of candidates selected for this stage will be based on candidate's Composite score of different parameters whose weightages are as mentioned below.

*weightage will be awarded to candidates who are Post Graduates (M.Tech/ME,MD,MS, MA, M.Sc, MCA, M.Pharma, M.Plan, M.Arch, M.Des, M.Stat, M.Com and in Other Commerce/ Economics Post graduate courses) and Professionals such as (CA and ICWA).

Academic Profile:

The weightage for academic profile will be based on the performance in 10th standard, 12th standard and Graduation degree
The score in 12th standard will be awarded to the candidates will depend on their streams (Science, Commerce, Arts and Humanities)

The Score in Graduation degree will be awarded to the candidates based on the marks obtained in the Graduation Programme and also based on the discipline of their course.

The graduates are broadly divided into 2 categories and the score awarded will be based the category candidate belongs to.

Discipline 1:

BE/B.TECH/B.Arch./BCA/B.Plan.

4 Year Bachelor's degree in Commerce/ Economics (Accountancy, Auditing, Banking, Business Administration, Business Mathematics, Business Organisation, Economics (all degrees), Economic Development and Planning, Finance, Insurance, Investment Analysis, Public Finance, Secretarial Practices etc.), Hotel & Tourism Management. Vocational Degree in Commerce (B. Com).
All BS/BSC (Excluding Journalism), B.Pharma, BN (Bachelor Of Nursing), B.STAT, BDS. BA (Mathematics and Statistics, Economics, Geography and Geological Sciences)

Discipline 2:

MBBS
B.Des/ BFTech, LLB.

All Arts and Humanities related 4 year Bachelor's degree in:
Arts/Humanities (Education, Fine Arts (Dance, Drama, Film, Music, Painting etc.), History, Journalism, Languages, Library Science, Literature, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work/Welfare, Sociology, etc.)
BA (with exception of Mathematics and Statistics, Economics, Geography and Geological Sciences)

Note:

If the duration of the Bachelor's degree is less than 4 years, the candidate must have a Master's degree.
Master's degree holders will be classified into one of these 2 disciplines on the basis of their subjects/ fields in their Bachelor's degree programme.

Phase 2: Final Selection: Merit List preparation

The final Merit list of candidates will be based on candidate's composite score of different parameters whose weights are mentioned below.

SJMSOM Final Placements

The final placement process for the batch of 2015-17 took place in February 2017. A good number of students were placed through PPOs through their summer internship program. Manufacturing companies emerged as the largest recruiters. Following is a brief picture of the placements of 2017 at SJMSOM.
