About CAT 2024 Exam Centers

The CAT exam centers are fully equipped with computer labs for the ease of candidates to take the test on the exam day. Approximately 400 of these centers will conduct the CAT exam in over 150 cities across the country. In 2021, the exam was held in 156 cities, while in 2022, it took place in 150 cities. For CAT 2023, the number of test cities increased to 167, and now CAT 2024 will be held in over 170 cities.

Each year, over 300,000 candidates take the exam across India. The CAT exam is conducted in three time slots at various exam centers since it has the highest number of applicants among all the MBA entrance tests. How to Select CAT Exam Centers?

To select your preferred CAT test center, candidates must indicate their city preferences in the CAT application form. Each applicant can choose up to 5 cities. Given below is the step-by-step process for selecting your preferred test city and CAT exam center:

Step 1: Register for CAT 2024 on the official website: iimcat.ac.in.

Step 2: Once your login ID has been created, use it to complete the application form.

Step 3: Navigate to the 'select test city' section.

Step 4: Choose up to five cities in order of preference from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Complete the remaining fields in the form, pay the exam fee, and click submit.

By following these steps, you will be able to indicate your preferred test locations and successfully complete your application to choose your preferred CAT exam center.

How to Edit CAT Exam Centers 2024 Preference?

The CAT 2024 application form correction process will start on September 27, 2024, with the correction window going live at 10:00 AM and will remain open till September 30, 2024, during which candidates can edit certain fields of the CAT application form 2024. 

Given below is the step-by-step process to edit the CAT exam center preference:

Step 1: Candidates should log in to their online application on the official website.

Step 2: Candidates should then click on the ‘Edit My Application’ button on the dashboard.

Step 3: Candidates should navigate to CAT Exam Center Preference Tab and update their exam centers.

Step 4: Candidates should then click on the ‘Next’ button and check the declaration box before saving the form.

State-Wise List of CAT Test Centers 2024

CAT 2024 exam centers list will be released soon before the commencement of the exam. The exam is scheduled on November 24, 2024 for 2025 admission. Every year, the exam authorities release a fresh list of CAT exam centers.

Things to Carry to the CAT Exam Center

Make sure that you are carrying the following items with you to the exam center:

• CAT Admit Card
• Two passport-size photos
• Photo ID Proof issued by the Government of India
• Medical certificate and scribe affidavit (if applicable)
• Authorization form (if applicable)
• Name change document (if applicable)

Important Documents and Items Required At The Exam Center

The candidates must carry the following items inside the allotted CAT exam centers:

• Blue/Black Ball Pen
• CAT Admit Card 2024
• Original Government-issued Photo ID
• Transparent water bottle.
• Own a mask, gloves, and personal hand sanitizer.
• Self-health declaration
• Disability certificate for PWD candidates

The following is a list of the photo IDs that are allowed in the CAT exam center:

• PAN Card
• Passport
• Driving License
• Voter’s ID Card
• Bank Passbook with a photograph
• Photo ID evidence with a photograph issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead
• Photo ID evidence with an image issued by a People's Representative on official letterhead. 
• A valid, current ID card issued by a recognised college or university is required.
• Aadhar card/ Employee ID/ Bar Council Identity Card with a photograph.

CAT 2024 Exam Centers - Points To Remember

• All candidates can choose five preferred exam centers for CAT 2024.
• Candidates will then receive their assigned exam center with their CAT 2024 admit card.
• The exact location of the CAT exam center will be given along with the Google Map link on that admit card. 
• Do ensure to check the details in advance to arrange your travel to the exam hall. 

Note- There is no option to change the exam center after the CAT admit card is released.

Can CAT 2024 Exam Center Be Changed?

Generally, it is unlikely to modify your CAT exam location once you have registered for the CAT exam. In case any problem arises, students have 2-3 days following the end of the registration period to modify their preferred CAT test location. 

After completing the above process it is not allowed to alter your CAT application form. You may request to submit a legitimate request to the CAT authorities in certain situations, although these are rarely granted. In order to prevent these issues later on, it is important that you carefully select the exam center of your choice during the registration process.

CAT Test Center 2024: Exam Day Guidelines (Do’s and Don’ts)

As there will be a thorough identification procedure at every CAT exam location, applicants should plan to arrive two hours prior to their exam. 

For example: A candidate must arrive at their CAT test location by 7:30 AM if their exam is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM. 

The following are the important guidelines to adhere to before taking the CAT 2024 exam at your location:

Do’s - CAT Exam Center

• Make sure to go to the testing location at least half an hour before the exam starts.
• Provide a printed copy of your CAT admission card together with a picture the size of a passport.
• Put on loose, comfortable clothing without pockets and avoid bulky jewellery.
• Use Google Maps to reach the location of your exam center given in your admit card. 

Don'ts - CAT Exam Center

• Do not bring any electronic devices, bags, or personal items.
• Avoid wearing any metal jewellery.
• Refrain from applying henna or mehndi on your palms.
• Water bottles are not allowed in the examination hall.
• Do not change your exam center or console.
• Avoid wearing headpins inside the examination hall.
