In the last few years, the questions on Numbers in all the MBA exams has been of easy to moderate level of difficulty. An aspirant should see Numbers as a crucial topic which when clubbed with either Arithmetic or Algebra is more than enough to fetch you a 99+%Ile. For CAT, doing this topic well will boost your performance in the quant section as 15-21 marks can easily be pocketed from Numbers itself. These marks would add on to the marks you dig out from Arithmetic and Algebra.
Take the free basic-level Number System tests and warm up to the topic. Roughly 2-3 questions in the Quant section of CAT, XAT and SNAP are from the basic level of Number Systems.Take the practice tests to ensure that you are able to answer all questions of this level.
As you move onto the advanced level and take the practice tests you should start getting a strong hold on the topic. As 2-3 questions in Quant section of CAT and 3-4 questions in SNAP maybe fromthe advanced level of Number System, make sure you get enough practice to add maximum marks from this topic to your CAT score.

As mentioned, Numbers need to be clubbed with either Arithmetic or Algebra for a scintillating performance. A student should find out his magic combination i.e. either Algebra & Numbers or Arithmetic and Numbers which can easily get him a 99%ile in QA.
