While the admission criteria differ from one B-school to another, almost all B-schools have a reservation policy to provide candidates of the Reserved Categories with equal opportunities as the General Category.
B-school cutoffs for the SC/ST/OBC/EWS Category are often lower than the General Category.
Here is a list of CAT 2022 cutoffs for some of the top B-schools.

Reserved category students have a better opportunity of getting into top B-schools owing to the reservation criteria set by the Government of India.
A noticeable difference exists in the expected B-school calls for both based on the gender difference. Below are two profiles:
A: SC, Male, B.Com., 24 months work exp., 10th & 12th: 90%, Graduation: 85%
B: General, Male, Engineer, 24 months work exp., 10th & 12th: 90%, Graduation: 85%
To be eligible to appear for CAT, Reserved Category candidates must have passed their Bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 45%.
The OBC quota is applicable for the OBC Non-Creamy Layer with 27% reserved seats in the IIMs. Candidates will be required to submit proof of their Reserved Category at the time of admission.
SC candidates are more likely to get a call from a top B-school at a lower cutoff than the General category counterpart. Also, 15% of seats in the IIMs are reserved for SC candidates.
