TANCET Eligibility: Educational Qualification

• You must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu).
• Having completed the degree through an acceptable pattern like 10+2+3/4/5 years, 10+3 years diploma + 3 years degree, or B.E./B.Tech.

Specific Degrees Accepted

• E. / B. Tech.
• Arch.
• Pharm.
• C.A.
• Sc. (Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent)
• Any 3-year Bachelor's degree with Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation level.
• Master's Degree in relevant branches of Science/Arts (as prescribed).
• Section 'A' & 'B' certificates (A.M.I.E.) and other similar certificates of professional bodies are also accepted.

Additional Points

• Distance/Weekend programs: Degrees obtained through Distance learning or weekend mode programs are NOT eligible.
• Incomplete degrees: Candidates appearing for the final semester/year of their qualifying degree course in 2023-24 are eligible to apply

TANCET Eligibility: Age and Attempts

• There is no age limit for appearing in TANCET 2024.
• Anyone regardless of their age can take the exam as long as they meet the other TANCET eligibility criteria.
• There is no limit on the number of times you can take the exam. This applies to candidates from all categories.

TANCET Eligibility: Nativity

While being a resident of Tamil Nadu is not a mandatory requirement for taking the TANCET exam, eligibility for admissions through TANCET scores can differ for students from outside the state.

General Eligibility

Regardless of state residency, all TANCET applicants must meet the basic eligibility criteria, including:

• Indian citizenship
• Qualifying bachelor's degree in relevant fields
• Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying exams

For Government Colleges

• Limited Seats: Only a specific percentage of seats in government colleges affiliated with Anna University are available for non-Tamil Nadu students.
• Merit and Reservation: Admissions for these seats are based on combined merit and reservation criteria as set by the Tamil Nadu government.

For Self-Financing Colleges

• Wider Eligibility: Most self-financing colleges in Tamil Nadu accept TANCET scores for admissions from all Indian students.
• Individual College Criteria: Each college might have its eligibility criteria beyond TANCET scores, so checking their websites is recommended.
