CLAT 2025 eligibility and CLAT 2024 cut off ranks

With CLAT scheduled on Dec 1^st and last date of form filling being 15^th October 2024,  here is some important information regarding CLAT.

Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2025.

1.       There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for UG Programme through the CLAT 2025.

2.       Candidates who have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:

                                 i.            Forty five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent in grade or

                               ii.            Forty Percent (40%) of marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.

3.       Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/ April 2025 are also eligible to apply. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

4.       The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the course they may have applied for.

5.       If more than one candidate secures an equal number of marks in the CLAT 2025, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:

                                 i.            Higher marks in the component/section on Legal Aptitude in the CLAT 2025 exam;

                               ii.            Higher age;

                              iii.            Computerised draw of lots.

The lowest cut-off score for CLAT 2024 varies by category and NLU. Generally, in CLAT 2024 scores above 80 got you into the top NLUs. Cut off scores may be lower based on domicile criteria ,and other reservation criteria.

1] Category-Wise Opening and Closing Ranks:

• General: The range varies significantly, with top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore having an opening rank of 1 and a closing rank of 102.
• OBC: The opening and closing ranks are wider. For instance, NALSAR Hyderabad starts at 189 and goes up to 1116.

2] Admission Cutoffs for Top 3 NLUs:

• NLU Bangalore: For the general category, the cutoff range is 1-102.
• NALSAR Hyderabad: The range for the general category is 4-167.
• NLU Kolkata: The cutoff for the general category falls between 140-277 for the BA LLB program and 289-1010 for the BSc LLB program.
