The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) aims to streamline the admission process for undergraduate programs across various universities. Below is a general overview of the anticipated CUET exam pattern:

 

Subjects Covered: CUET typically assesses candidates in key subjects relevant to their chosen field of study. These may include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and General Knowledge, depending on the participating programs and universities.

 

Exam Format: CUET commonly adopts a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, where candidates choose the correct option from a set of provided choices. The exam is divided into three sections: Section 1, Section 2, and Section 3.

 

Section 1: This section includes a Language Test, which may be conducted online or offline from CUET 2024 onwards. Candidates can choose from thirteen languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, among others. The duration is 45 minutes, with 40 out of 50 questions to be answered. Section 3: General Test includes questions on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, and other topics. The duration is 60 minutes, with 50 out of 60 questions to be answered.

 

Duration: The test duration is 60 minutes for certain subjects like Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, Chemistry, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, and the General Test. For all other subjects, the duration is 45 minutes.

 

Marking Scheme: Correct answers usually earn +5 marks, while wrong answers result in a deduction of 1 mark.

 

Syllabus:

 

Section 1: Evaluates language proficiency through questions on Reading Comprehension, Synonyms & Antonyms, Idioms, Spellings, Grammar, Para Jumbles, and Figures of Speech, based on various types of passages.

 

Section 2: Domain subjects strictly follow the Class 12 NCERT syllabus.

 

Section 3: Covers topics like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, and Quantitative Reasoning.
