How to prepare for CLAT in five months?

The CLAT Paper is a reader’s paper . If you have a close look at CLAT 2024 Q paper , the paper had five sections :

English Language: This section tests comprehension and analytical skills through passages followed by multiple-choice questions. The section had four passages.

Current Affairs Including General Knowledge: This section assesses the candidate's awareness of recent events and general knowledge.  This section had five passages.  

Legal Reasoning: This section evaluates the ability to understand and analyze legal scenarios and principles. This section had five passages

Logical Reasoning: This section tests logical and analytical reasoning skills. This section had four passages.

Quantitative Techniques: This section assesses mathematical abilities and problem-solving skills through quantitative questions. This section had two passages.

All together the question paper had 20 passages and comprised of approximately 12877 words . Over the years , what has become evident is that CLAT Question papers assess the reading and understanding skills of a student across multiple domains.

With CLAT 2025 scheduled on 1st December 2024 , students have five months’ time for the exam.

General Knowledge

1. Daily (Monday to Sunday):

 Read national and international news from a reliable newspaper. Preferred newspapers would be Times of India or The Indian Express or The Hindu.

2. Saturday:

   Read the GK weekly compendium (Career Launcher’s Manthan or a reliable new source).

3. Sunday:

  Revise important events content covered thus far.

 

Mock Tests

1. Sunday:

  Take a full-length mock test.

2. Monday:

   Analyse the previous day's mock test thoroughly.

 

Reading Section

1. Daily (Monday to Sunday):

   Read one article per day on a diverse topic from JSTOR Daily or AEON Essays or a similar website.

   Read one editorial article from The Hindu , The Indian Express or another major newspaper.

  Read one legal article from sites like Live Law or Bar and Bench.

 

2. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Solve one to two sets each of legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and English comprehension from the Career Launcher books or myzone.careerlauncher.com or other reliable sources.

 

Quantitative Techniques

1.                   Friday:

Solve two caselets focusing on quantitative techniques from the Career Launcher books or myzone.careerlauncher.com or other reliable sources.

Time Management and Speed:

Practice Under Timed Conditions: Practice solving questions under timed conditions to improve speed and accuracy.

Time Management Strategies: Develop strategies to allocate time to each section during the exam.

Stay Healthy and Positive:

Balanced Routine: Maintain a balanced routine with adequate time for study, exercise, and rest.

Stay Positive: Stay motivated and maintain a cheerful outlook. Take breaks and engage in activities you enjoy avoiding burnout.

Seek Guidance:

Coaching: If possible, join a coaching institute for structured guidance and regular practice.

Study Groups: Join study groups or forums to discuss doubts and share knowledge.

By following this structured plan and staying consistent in your efforts, you can maximize your chances of performing well in the CLAT.

Interdisciplinary Focus: JSTOR Daily covers a wide range of topics including history, science, art, politics, and culture. Articles often connect current events to historical and scholarly research.

Educational Value: The articles are well-researched and cite academic papers, providing readers with in-depth insights and a scholarly perspective on various issues.

Accessibility: While the content is rooted in academia, it is written in a way that is accessible to a general audience, making complex topics understandable to non-experts.

These topics shall develop the much-needed reading skill in you that shall help you the exam. Initially you might find it difficult, but as you go through them regularly you will find that your reading speed has increased, and your comprehension skills are several notches higher.

The articles and opinion pieces help students gain a deeper understanding of legal concepts and principles, which is beneficial for the Legal Aptitude section.

 Adjustments can be made based on personal schedules and the intensity of school commitments.
