Visva-Bharati University is a central research university and an Institution of National Importance which was established in 1951 by an Act of Parliament, with an objective of exploring the arts, language, humanities, music, etc. Visva-Bharati University is NAAC accredited with “B” grade and was ranked 64 in NIRF 2021.
Founded by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Visva Bharati University is located at Santiniketan, West Bengal. It was established with a mission to seek to realize in a common fellowship of study the meeting of the East and the West, and thus ultimately to strengthen the fundamental conditions of world peace through the establishment of free communication of ideas between the two hemispheres.

From 2022, the admissions to undergraduate courses will be done on the basis of the candidate's performance in the Class 12 examination & CUET. The merit list of Visva Bharati University is prepared based on the best of four subjects in Class 12 along with a subject in which the candidate is going to pursue honours at the undergraduate level.
Visva-Bharati University offers reservations in admissions according to central government rules.
The University also provides specific courses specially designed for foreign students. The admission procedure for all the UG and PG courses generally starts from May till the third week of June.
