CUET (UG) is one of the biggest entrances in India at the UG level. The paper is broadly divided into 3 sections, namely -

> Section I (A & B) - Languages (33 languages)

> Section II - Domain Subjects (29 Subjects)

> Section III - General Test (GT)

In section I (Language), English & Hindi are the two primary subjects for which NTA receives the maximum number of applications. Language papers, especially English ones, can play a crucial role in maximizing the overall CUET scores of students.

Since UG admission to 280+ universities will be based on the candidate's CUET scores, students must thoroughly review the CUET 2025 syllabus for English and prepare really well for CUET English to maximize their scores. An ideal way to maximize the CUET English scores has been discussed below.

Focusing on certain key areas is essential if you are preparing for the CUET English test. These are:

Firstly, build your vocabulary by reading various sources such as newspapers, magazines, and books and learning new words and their meanings. You should then practice using these words in sentences to reinforce understanding. Reading the newspaper will help you improve your vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension skills. You can refer to the Hindu or Times of India newspapers to improve your English skills.

Revise grammar rules, you should revise grammar rules like parts of speech, tenses, articles, prepositions, para jumbles and conjunctions. Refer to any standard grammar book to learn correctly and revise them through intense practice.

Another important area to focus on is reading comprehension. Practice reading comprehension passages and answering questions based on them, focusing on understanding the passage's main idea, supporting details, and tone.

Apart from these regular studies, students are also advised to download and solve CUET sample papers or CUET English previous year question papers. This will provide a fair idea of the right question pattern and trends. To reinforce all the learning and check readiness, students are also advised to attempt the CUET mock test for English. Solving the paper in a simulated environment will help students learn time management and overcome any exam hall fear.
