CUET (UG) 2024 Exam - Day 1, Brief Analysis

Incepted in 2022, the third edition of the common UG entrance test (CUET 2024) commenced on May 15, 2024. Approximately 13 lakh+ students will write the test and seek UG admission to participating universities [250+ universities are a part of CUET (UG) 2024].

CUET (UG) is being conducted in a hybrid (online & offline) mode for the first time. Therefore, the exam will be held in two different phases:


> Phase I: Offline - Pen & paper mode - May 15 - 18.

> Phase II: Online - CBT mode - May 21 - 24


The first phase of CUET (UG) 2024 began on May 15, and the following tests were scheduled for the first day of the test:

> Chemistry

> Biology

> English

> General Test

Chemistry: Based on student feedback and expert analysis, it was determined that the difficulty level of the CUET Chemistry paper slightly exceeded that of the previous year. In general, the paper was perceived as challenging.


Biology: Considering diverse responses and a thorough examination by our experts, the CUET Biology paper falls within the range of easy to moderately difficult. Students particularly appreciated the directness of questions, mostly derived from the NCERT book. Further analysis of the CUET 2024 Biology paper is outlined below.


English: The CUET English paper was assigned to the third shift, marking the initiation of language examinations. Consistent with the prior year's experience, students assessed this year's English paper as manageable. Although the passages posed some difficulty, they were not overwhelmingly challenging compared to the other questions. By and large, students viewed the paper as easy to moderate.


General Test: The General Test paper was allocated to the ultimate shift on the initial day of CUET (UG) 2024. According to feedback from students and experts alike, this year's CUET GT paper appeared less challenging. The questions were well-balanced across various topics and were presented straightforwardly.
