How Should One Prepare for CUET 2025 to Secre DU UG Admission

Out of 3 lakh seats (approximately) offered for UG admission by 287 participating universities, the University of Delhi reserves over 30% of seats, roughly 71,000. In 2024, approximately 3 lakh students registered for the DU CSAS portal (counselling cum admission portal). Hence, it will be a tough fight to secure a seat in the top colleges of DU for undergraduate studies.

However, with the limited time available (considering the board exams), it is still manageable to prepare and secure DU admission. If you're aiming for admission to Delhi University through CUET 2025 (UG), it's great that you're planning while still having some time! Here’s a step-by-step guide to kickstart your preparation now and still manage to maximize your CUET scores:

Step 1: Understand the CUET Exam Pattern

CUET consists of three main sections:

- Language Test (English or any other chosen language)

- Domain-Specific Subjects (Based on the course you’re applying for)

- General Aptitude Test (Logical reasoning, basic math, general knowledge, etc.)

Make sure to check the specific subject requirements for your desired DU course so you prepare for the right sections.

Step 2: Get Familiar with the Syllabus

Download the CUET syllabus from the official NTA website and compare it with your Class 12 syllabus. This will help you understand what’s already covered and what needs extra focus.

Step 3: Gather Study Material

NCERT books (especially for domain subjects)

CUET-specific guidebooks and mock tests

CUET Previous year’s question papers to understand the type of questions asked

Step 4: Create a Study Plan

Start with subjects you're already studying for boards, as there’s a good overlap.

Dedicate at least 1–2 hours daily for CUET-specific prep.

Solve mock tests weekly and analyze your mistakes.

Focus on time management, as CUET is a time-bound MCQ exam.

Balance it properly with your board exams. One shouldn’t be prioritised over the other.

Step 5: Practice GAT & Language Skills

If your course requires the General Aptitude Test, practice logical reasoning, basic math (Class 8-10 level), and current affairs daily. Work on reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary for the Language Test.

Step 6: Take Mock Tests & Revise Regularly

Solve full-length CUET mocks at least once a week.

Identify weak areas and revise accordingly.

Make short notes and flashcards for quick revision.

Step 7: Stay Updated & Stay Motivated

Follow official CUET updates on the NTA website.

Join Telegram groups or YouTube channels for CUET preparation.

Stay consistent—small efforts every day will pay off!

If you're disciplined and have good study resources, self-study is enough. But if you are eyeing any top colleges of DU, struggling with time management or need structured guidance, CUET online coaching can help. Choose what works best for you.
