The above are a few detailed courses and eligibility criteria for a few top universities participating in CUET 2024. To check the brief course-wise CUET 2025 eligibility criteria for all the participating universities, visit the official NTA CUET website (cuetug.ntaonline.in/universities/).
The common CUET 2025 eligibility criteria for applying and appearing for CUET (UG) might not emphasize the importance of Board marks, but they will play a crucial role in the final counselling process for UG admission. The CUET scorecard of the students will be the sole criteria for UG admission, but what happens when two or more students with the same CUET score opt for the same course and college? How do the colleges decide whom to award the seat to?
The University of Delhi (DU) has officially announced the criteria for the tiebreaker scenario. The university has announced that if there is a tie between the CUET score of two or more students applying for the same course and college, their Board marks will be considered. Initially, the best of 3 and the best of 4 and 5 will be considered. If a tie remains, the older student will get the seat. In this way, even the student's age can be considered in CUET eligibility criteria for DU UG admission.
Download the college and category-wise intake capacity of all the University of Delhi (DU) colleges for various Science stream courses.
Get PDFCUET is an entrance exam for admissions to Undergraduate courses in 280+ universities, including 45+ central universities. Each participating university (central) must follow the standard CUET reservation policy set by the Government of India concerning intake capacity. All the central universities participating in CUET 2025 will follow the same CUET reservation policy. The same is mentioned below.
Category |
Reservation |
General Economically Weaker Sections (GEN-EWS) |
10% |
Scheduled Castes (SC) |
15% |
Scheduled Tribes (ST) |
7.5% |
Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) |
27% |
Persons with Disability |
5% in each category |
To avail of the reservation benefit based on caste (or any other category as specified), a candidate must be able to produce valid documents/certificates to support their claims. The official announcement for CUET (UG) 2025 will include detailed information and proforma for category certificates.
Candidates have to ensure two important things about the certificate for their CUET 2025 eligibility criteria - reservation policy (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD):
Candidates are advised to thoroughly review the CUET UGeligibility criteria before filling out the CUET form.
The above are brief details regarding the common CUET 2025 eligibility criteria, course-wise CUET eligibility criteria, reservation policy, and the significance of Board marks for UG admission. All aspiring students must review these details before filling out the CUET form.
The exam will draw unparalleled competition among students across the country. Students are advised to enrol in comprehensive CUET online coaching to tackle this competition and secure seats in top universities. This will enable them to maximize their scores and stay ahead of their peers.
No changes are expected in the CUET eligibility criteria. It will remain the same as the previous year, and the same has been briefly discussed above.
Any student who has passed the class 12 Board exam with 50% marks (5% relaxation for category students) or is appearing for the same is eligible and may apply for the CUET 2025 (UG) exam.
DU and some other universities will consider the class 12 marks of the students to decide the tie-breaker. If there is a tie between two or more students with the same CUET score and applying for the same course and college, their class 12 marks (best of 3, 4, & 5 subsequently) will be considered. Still, a tie remains; the older student will get the seat.
Students appear for various numbers of subjects in CUET (3, 4, 5, or 6). The good score also varies based on the number of subjects a student has appeared in. Generally, with a score above 90% in CUET 2025, students will have a fair chance of getting admission to any of the top participating universities of CUET 2025.
The detailed CUET eligibility criteria for 2025 have been discussed in the article above. Students are advised to go through the article thoroughly to gain awareness.
