Jawaharlal Nehru University UG Admission: JNU is a major public research university located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1969 and named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. The university is known for leading faculties and research emphasis on social science and applied sciences. JNU UG Admission 2024: Latest Update

JNU admission 2024 for UG programs will be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The university accepts CUET (UG) scores for admissions to all the UG courses, such as BA (Hons), B.Sc, Integrated, and COP programs. Apart from CUET, the candidates are also required to register for the counselling portal of the university whenever it is open. The portal usually opens around (before or after) the time when CUET UG results are declared. The students must register for the UG admission counselling portal to participate in the JNU UG admission process for 2024. The final selection will be based on the merit list released by the university based on the CUET 2024 score.

Eligibility criteria for JNU UG admissions 2024: 10+2 from a recognized Board with 50% marks (5% relaxation will be provided to the category students). This will be the qualifying criteria for JNU UG admissions in 2024. Admissions to all the UG programs will be based on CUET score. JNU UG Admission Process

Admission in B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, B.Sc & M.Sc. Integrated Program in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency programs of Jawaharlal Nehru University for the Academic Year 2024-25 will be through CUET (UG) 2024.

All the students who have a valid CUET 2024 scorecard can apply for the JNU UG admission 2024 on the university admission portal. Admission to the top UG programs of JNU will be based on the merit list prepared from student's CUET scores. Taking the entrance test (CUET) is a prerequisite for being eligible for JNU UG admission. Apart from the CUET registration, candidates are also required to register for the JNU counselling portal to take part in the JNU UG admission process 2024.

Until 2021, admissions to JNU UG courses were based on the JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). From the academic year 2022 onwards, admissions to top UG programs of JNU will be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which will replace the JNUEE. CUET will be a common entrance for admissions to UG programs offered by 44+ central and various other State, private, and deemed universities (250+ total) in the country.

Important points for JNU UG admission

  • JNU offers admissions in UG and COP Programs (B.A.-M.A. integrated program in Foreign Languages, B.Sc.-M.Sc. Integrated Program in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency programs) for academic session 2024-25 through Common Universities Entrance Test CUET (UG)-2024 in School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies.
  • Admissions to the above-mentioned programs shall be made through CUET (UG)-2024 to be conducted by NTA. Aspiring candidates are required to apply online for CUET (UG)-2024 on the official website of NTA (https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/).
  • Students desirous of admission to the UG/COP programs in the university should satisfy themselves with their eligibility criteria and Subject/Tests prescribed for admission in these programs
  • Students not appearing in the prescribed Subjects/Tests for these programs shall not be admitted to these
  • Admissions in these programs shall be based on the performance of the candidates in CUET (UG)-2024 and deprivation points earned by the eligible candidates taken together.
  • Reservation Policy of Govt. of India shall apply to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD categories.

Documents required for JNU UG admission

The list of certificates and documents required to be submitted by all the candidates selected for admission to various programs of study at the time of admission is mentioned below.

  • CUET 2024 UG scorecard
  • Enrolment Form
  • Central Library Application Form
  • Five copies of recent passport-size photographs
  • Two sets of self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher Secondary, Pre-University, or Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an equivalent examination certificate showing the age/date of birth of the candidate.
  • A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
  • Two sets of self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate and passing certificate/degree of Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree examination etc; or their equivalent examination
  • Caste Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended
  • Two Anti-Ragging Affidavits
