38th India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (IND-INDO CORPAT)
What's the NEWS
  • The 38th India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (IND-INDO CORPAT) between the Indian Navy Units of Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC) and Indonesian Navy is being conducted from June 13 to 24 2022 in the Andaman Sea and Straits of Malacca.
38th CORPAT - Highlights
  • The 38th CORPAT is the first post pandemic Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) between the two countries.
  • It includes a visit by the Indonesian Navy units to ANC at Port Blair from June 13 to 15, 2022 followed by a Sea Phase in the Andaman Sea and visit by IN Units to Sabang (Indonesia) from June 23 to 24, 2022.
  • As part of Government of India's vision of SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region), Naval Component under the aegis of HQ ANC undertakes coordinated patrols with other littoral countries of the Andaman Sea along respective Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) towards enhancing regional maritime security.
  • India and Indonesia have enjoyed especially close relations, covering a wide spectrum of activities and interactions which have strengthened over the years.
  • The two Navies have been carrying out CORPAT along their International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) since 2002.
  • The IND-INDO CORPAT contributes towards forging strong bonds of friendship across the Andaman Sea and Straits of Malacca.

First National Conference of Chief Secretaries
What's the NEWS
  • Prime Minister will chair the First National Conference of Chief Secretaries at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh on 16th and 17th June, 2022.
  • It will be a significant step towards further strengthening the partnership between the Centre and the State Governments.
Know! about First National Conference of Chief Secretaries
  • The National Conference of Chief Secretaries will be held from 15th to 17th June 2022.
  • More than 200 people will participate in the conference, representing the Central Government, all States/ UTs and domain experts.
  • It will focus on the rapid and sustained economic growth in partnership with the States.
  • Working as Team India, the Conference will lay the ground for collaborative action for higher growth with sustainability, creation of jobs, education, ease of living and aatmanirbharta in agriculture.
  • The Conference will emphasise on evolution and implementation of a common development agenda and blueprint for cohesive action to achieve the aspirations of the people.
Three themes have been identified for detailed deliberations in the Conference:
  1. Implementation of the National Education Policy
  2. Urban governance; and
  3. Crop diversification and achieving self-sufficiency in oilseeds, pulses and other agri-commodities.

Joint Civil-Military Programme

What's the NEWS

  • Defence Miister addressed the participants of 28th Joint Civil-Military Training Programme at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand
Know! about. The programme
  • The Joint Civil-Military Programme was initiated in 2001 with the aim of fostering structured interface between civil servants and Armed Forces officers for a shared understanding of national security.
  • Participants are drawn from the Civil Services, Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces.
  • The objective is to familiarise the participants with challenges to management of national security, emerging external and internal security environment and impact of globalisation; to provide an opportunity for the participants to interact and exchange ideas on the subject and expose them to the imperatives of civil-military synergy.

Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF)-2022

 

What's the NEWS

  • Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare launched the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF)-2022
  • IDCF programme is being implemented from 13th June to 27th June, 2022 in the States/UTs.
  • The goal of IDCF is to attain zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea.
Know! about diarrhoea
  • Dehydration is the biggest cause of diarrhoea in children and other reasons include a change in the baby's diet to make up for a change in the mother's diet when breastfeeding ; Use of antibiotics by the baby, or use by the mother while breastfeeding, or any type of bacterial or parasitic infection."
  • According to the latest survey (NFHS-5) conducted by the Ministry, only 60.6% children under the age of five with diarrhoea were given ORS and only 30.5% were given zinc.
  • This means that there is lack of awareness among mothers.
Know! about IDFC
  • The Intensive Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) is being organized since 2014 with an objective to 'bringing the number of deaths due to diarrhoea in childhood to zero'.
  • IDCF consists of a set of activities to be implemented in an intensified manner for prevention and control of deaths due to dehydration from diarrhoea across all States & UTs.
  • These activities mainly include intensification of advocacy & awareness generation activities for diarrhoea management, strengthening service provision for diarrhoea case management, establishment of ORS-Zinc corners, prepositioning of ORS by ASHA in households with under-five children and awareness generation activities for hygiene and sanitation.
Child mortality rate
  • According to the latest report of SRS-2019, child mortality rate in the country has come down considerably since 2014.
  • This rate has come down from 45 per 1000 live births in 2014 to 35 per 1000 live births in 2019.

Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela

  • With an aim to connect the youth with more opportunities of on-ground training within corporates and further a chance to get employment , the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be organising the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela every month now on.
Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela - Highlights
  • On 13th June, 2022, The PM National Apprenticeship Mela will take place across 200+ locations in India.
  • More than 1000 companies from across 36+ sectors will be participating in the Mela providing opportunities of being hired as an apprentice within companies.
  • Individuals having a 5th-12th grade pass certificate, a skill training certificate, an ITI Diploma, or a graduate degree can apply for an interview across these trades/opportunities.
  • The candidates will be given a choice of 500+ trades, including welders, electricians, housekeepers, beauticians, mechanics, and others.
  • The primary goal of this programme is to encourage the hiring of apprentices from these cities, as well as to assist employers in identifying and developing their potential through training and practical skillsets bringing value to their workplace.
  • Candidates will also receive Apprenticeship certificates recognised by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) at the end of their training period, which will give them industry recognition.
