New online system of MSME/Udyam Registration

What's the NEWS
- New online system of MSME/Udyam Registration launched by Union MSME Ministry, w.e.f. 1st July, 2020, has stood the test of Time & Technology as more than 11 lakh MSMEs have successfully registered themselves by now.
Know! the steps taken by the Ministry to ease the registration process
- Ministry of MSME had revised the definition of MSMEs and process of registration w.e.f. 1st July, 2020.
- It also launched a new portal for MSME/Udyam registration (https://udyamregistration.gov.in).
- This portal is seamlessly integrated with CBDT and GST networks as also with the GeM.
- Through this integration, now MSME registration is a totally paperless exercise.
- Ministry has instructed all of its Field Establishments such as MSME-Development Institutes, MSME Technology Centers, NSIC, KVIC, Coir Board to extend full support to entrepreneurs for Udyam Registration.
- All District Magistrates and District Industries Centers have been requested to expedite registration by the MSMEs.
- Grievances of MSMEs relating to registration are being handled by CHAMPIONS' platform through its network of Central Control Room and 68 State Control Rooms across the country.
Registration Process
- An enterprise for the purpose of this process will be known as Udyam and its Registration Process will be known as 'Udyam Registration'
- A permanent registration number will be given after registration.
- After completion of the process of registration, a certificate will be issued online.
- This certificate will have a dynamic QR Code from which the web page on our Portal and details about the enterprise can be accessed.
- There will be no need for renewal of Registration.
- The single window systems at Champions Control Rooms and at DICs will help you in the process.
- Registration Process is totally free. No Costs or Fees are to be paid to anyone.
- MSME Registration is free, paperless and based on self- declaration
- MSME registration process is fully online, paperless and based on self-declaration.
- No documents or proof are required to be uploaded for registering an MSME.
- Only Adhaar Number will be enough for registration.
- PAN & GST linked details on investment and turnover of enterprises will be taken automatically from Government data bases.
Having PAN & GST number is mandatory from 01.04.2021.
An enterprise shall be classified as a micro, small or medium enterprise on the basis of the following criteria, namely: --
- A micro enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
- A small enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees; and
- A medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.

The single window system for the MSMEs
- To put up and promote a unified, empowered, robust, bundled and technology driven platform for helping and promoting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the country.
- It will aim at Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.
- This is basically for making the smaller units big by helping and handholding, in particular, by solving their problems and grievances
Three basic objectives of the CHAMPIONS:
- To help the MSMEs in this difficult situation in terms of finance, raw materials, labour, permissions, etc.
- To help the MSMEs capture new opportunities in manufacturing and services sectors.
- To identify the sparks, i.e., the bright MSMEs who can withstand at present and become national and international champions.

AIM-Sirius Innovation Programme 3.0

What's the NEWS
- Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Sirius, Russia, launched ‘AIM-Sirius Innovation Programme 3.0'- a 14-day virtual programme for Indian and Russian schoolchildren.
- The first Indo-Russian bilateral youth innovation initiative, the AIM-Sirius programme seeks to develop technological solutions (both web- and mobile-based) for the two countries.
Indo-Russian bilateral youth innovation initiative
- Over a two-week programme, from 7-21 November 2020, 48 students and 16 educators and mentors will create 8 virtual products and mobile applications addressing global challenges-- across a range of areas such as culture, distance education, applied cognitive science, health and well-being, sports, fitness, and games training, chemistry, artificial intelligence, and digital financial assets--in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.
- This is the first virtual bilateral student collaboration between India and Russia and shows immense commitment by both the Atal tinkering labs and Sirius teams.
- AIM and Sirius' mentors from the industry and academia will work closely with the teams.
- This year's cohort comprises the best Russian students from the Sirius Centre and the best Indian students and ATL in-charges from the top 150 teams of the 2019 ATL Marathon.
- Last year, an Indian delegation of 25 students and 5 teachers visited the Sirius Centre, Russia, for a 7-day research-based programme.

Health Ministry's telemedicine service eSanjeevani completes 7 lakh consultations

What's the NEWS
- eSanjeevani, the national telemedicine service set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has completed 7 lakh consultations

- The top ten States which have registered highest consultations through eSanjeevani and eSanjeevaniOPD platforms are Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
- Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India along with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (Mohali) is consistently enhancing the capabilities and adding new functionalities in eSanjeevani in consultation with State Administrations.
- eSanjeevani supports two types of online consultation with general physicians and medical specialists, these are Doctor-to-Doctor (eSanjeevani AB-HWC) and Patient-to-Doctor (eSanjeevani OPD) Tele-consultations.
eSanjeevani AB-HWC
- The former variant was rolled out in November 2019 and it is an important pillar of the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWCs) programme.
- eSanjeevani (AB-HWC) is to be implemented in all the 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres in a 'Hub and Spoke' model, by December 2022.
- States need to set up dedicated 'Hubs' in Medical Colleges and District hospitals to provide tele-consultation services to 'Spokes', i.e. Health & Wellness Centres (HWC).
eSanjeevani OPD
- The Health Ministry rolled out eSanjeevaniOPD i.e. the second variant to enable patient-to-doctor teleconsultations in April this year during first lockdown when the OPDs across the country were closed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PSLV-C49/EOS-01

What's the NEWS
- India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its fifty first flight (PSLV-C49), successfully launched EOS-01 along with nine international customer satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota on November 07, 2020.

- PSLV-C49 is the 2nd flight of PSLV in 'DL' configuration (with 2 solid strap-on motors).
- PSLV-C49 lifted-off from the First Launch Pad of SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota .
- After 15 minutes and 20 seconds, EOS-01 was successfully injected into its orbit.
- Subsequently, nine commercial satellites were injected into their intended orbits.
- After separation, the two solar arrays of EOS-01 were deployed automatically and the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network at Bengaluru assumed control of the satellite.

- It is an earth observation satellite, intended for applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.
- The nine customer satellites from Lithuania (1), Luxembourg (4) and USA (4) were launched under a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).

- This is the space agency's first launch since a nationwide lockdown
An earlier launch - of the GSAT-30 telecommunication satellite - was completed in January, but that was from a base in French Guinea. - The PSLV is often referred to as the workhorse of India's space programme and has now completed its 51st launch. This launch was also the 77th launch mission from the Sriharikota spaceport.
- The recent launch also means the agency has sent 328 foreign satellites (from 33 nations) into space.
ISRO, EOS-01 is a highly advanced earth observation satellite intended for use in supporting agriculture, forestry and disaster management planning. - The customer satellites, launched under a commercial agreement with New India Space Limited (NSIL), include four from the United States that are meant for "multi-mission remote sensing".
