The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati also known as IIT-TP is among the 5 latest IITs announced in 2014. It was established in 2015 under the mentorship of IIT Madras. The Institute is currently operated from its temporary campus situated on Tirupati-Renigunta road located at 5 km from the center of Tirupati town in Andhra Pradesh. Aland of 530 acres has been proposed for the construction of permanent campus of IIT Tirupati. The first batch of IIT Tirupati graduated in 2019. Currently IIT Tirupati has 9 academic departments and it offers admission at UG, PG and PhD levels.

Getting into IIT Tirupati -Admissions

For all B.Tech programs-JEE Advanced
The aspirants have to qualify JEE Main and then JEE Advanced to be eligible for counseling. Only the top 224,000 students in JEE Main will become eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.
Also, the candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board with 75% marks (65% in case of ST/SC/PwD)

B.Tech admission at IIT Tirupati is done through online counseling. Counseling organized by the JoSAA is held for those candidates who are shortlisted through the screening process on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in JEE. After the allotment of seat candidates need to submit the requisite fee and required documents for verification.

Campus life at IIT Tirupati:

The students of IIT Tirupati are actively involved in organizing technical events and workshops. Robokart and astronomy workshops are some of the events organized by them. Students have initiated clubs like acting club, Photography club, Trekking Club to enhance the all-round development. Students have organized a technical fest ANFANG and techno-cultural fest Tirutsava. Arrangements of medical facilities are done for the students, faculty and staff in the reputed hospitals at Tirupati.
