The Government of India has initiated IISERs at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati to integrate and promote interdisciplinary science education and research. Over the years IISERs have been successfully filling brilliant young minds. An overarching goal of the IISERs is to make students capable of shaping the nation by inventing and implementing sustainable solutions for societal problems through scientific research. This is being achieved by our faculty department of international repute together with bright students. In a short period, IISERs have generated an incredible amount of intellectual property in the form of publications and patents. In 2012, it has been declared 'Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India, IISERs offer courses such as BS-MS, integrated PhD and PhD to the aspirants. At IISERs, students can get admission in programmes such as Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Data Science, Earth & Climate Sciences/Earth & environmental sciences, Economic Sciences, Engineering Sciences (Chemical, Data Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science engineering), Geological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. Candidates need to know that Engineering Sciences and Economic Sciences courses are being offered at IISER Bhopal only. Presently, there are seven IISERs spread all across the nation. Candidates will be admitted to IISER colleges only through the following three channels.
(1) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
(2) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
(3) State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)
These channels are referred to as KVPY, JEE, and SCB, respectively.
Given the current uncertainties in the board examinations, it has been decided that the eligibility criterion for admission to IISERs this year will stand at 60% (or equivalent) at the +2 level for General candidates and 55% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy) candidates for all eligible boards. Students whose board examination results are not available at the time of the IAT will be allowed to appear in the examination. The admission of selected candidates to an IISER will be subject to their attaining the above eligibility criterion.
The candidates can follow these steps while filling the IISER application form:
Registration - Candidates will be required to register on the official website by entering their email Id and creating a password. After the registration is complete, a verification email will be sent to the registered email Id of the candidate which needs to be verified to access the application form.
Form Filling - Log in using the valid credentials and enter all the details asked in the IISER application form such as personal information, academic details, contact details, and more. Uploading scanned images of photograph and signature will also be required. Candidates will next have to choose the channel of admission. Candidates will have to upload the mark sheet of class XII in the prescribed format.
Payment Mode - Candidates will also have to pay the application fee of IISER admission 2021 in online mode through credit/debit card or internet banking.
Application fee
The application fee for the general category and OBC is Rs.2000. For other categories, the applicable fee is Rs.1000.
Submission of form- Finally, candidates must review the details entered in the application form and submit it. Take a printout for future reference.
