IBPS CWE RRB (Officer Scale I), September 21, 2014 - Exam Analysis

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted online examination, for the recruitment of Officer Scale – I in Regional Rural Banks, across the country on the 21st of September, 2013.

There were 200 questions in the paper, which had to be answered in 2 hours and 30 minutes. There were five sections in all - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language/Hindi Language and Computer Knowledge. Other than the fourth section, wherein a candidate had to attempt either the section on English Language or the one on Hindi Language, all the other sections were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options and carried one mark. There was negative marking of one-fourth marks for all the sections.

Questions on Fill in the Blanks and Cloze test dominated this section. There was one Reading Comprehension passage with 10 questions. The questions in this section were fairly easy.

The maximum number of questions from this section was from Banking and Economy. Some questions from Current Affairs were also there. This section was of easy to moderate difficulty level.

Computer Knowledge

This section comprised questions of moderate difficulty level based on basic knowledge of computers. The main areas from which questions were asked are : Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Networking, Hardware and Software.
