Students who aspire to get into the 5-year Integrated Programme in Management in Indore, Rohtak, Ranchi, Jammu, and Bodh Gaya, have to appear and qualify for the IPMAT-Indore, IPMAT-Rohtak, & JIPMAT tests.

The scores in IPMAT-Indore, IPMAT-Rohtak, and JIPMAT dictate a student’s chances of getting admission into the IPM Programme. The IPMAT selection procedure is multi-fold but is different across the different IIMs taking admissions for IPM.

While the aim of every IPM examination below is majorly similar; the structure of the exams may differ from exam to exam.

Key Difference in IPM Exams

IPMAT Indore does not have a Logical Reasoning section.
The QA section in the IPMAT-Indore exam is bifurcated among the SA(Short answer) and MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) question forms.
Both JIPMAT & IPMAT-Rohtak have a Logical Reasoning Section.

Indore IPMAT Exam Pattern 2025

IPMAT-Indore is a computer-based test hence, will be conducted in an online mode. The duration of IPMAT 2025 will be 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours. For each section, 40 minutes will be allotted.

IPMAT 2025 for IPM Indore will majorly be divided into two sections

Verbal Aptitude
Quantitative Aptitude (Short Answer + Multiple Choice Questions).

There is a sectional time limit of 40 minutes in each of the three sections
There is a sectional cut off for each section to be able to appear for the IPM Interview.

Marking Scheme of IPMAT-Indore Exam 2025

For every correct MCQ-type question in IPMAT-Indore exam, there is a reward of +4 marks.
For every incorrect MCQ-type question in IPMAT-Indore exam, there is a deduction of -1 marks.
For every correct SA-type question, there is a reward of 4 marks and no deduction for an incorrect question.

Rohtak IPMAT Exam Pattern 2025

IPMAT-Rohtak exam usually is scheduled around the same time as Indore and is categorized into three sections, namely, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability.

Each section contains 40 questions making it an exam having a total of 120 questions. Unlike IPMAT-Indore, the exam is entirely in the MCQ format.

JIPMAT Exam Pattern 2025

JIPMAT exam follows a similar exam pattern as of IPMAT-Rohtak, having three comprehensive sections namely, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability.

Both Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning have 33 questions each, while Verbal ability has a total of 34 questions, making it an exam having a total of 100 questions. Much like IPMAT-Rohtak, JIPMAT exam contains only of MCQ-type questions.

If the overall composite scores of two or more students are found to be same, then they will be ranked on the following basis:

Overall JIPMAT score (higher score will be ranked higher), VARC section score (higher score will be ranked higher), QA section score (higher score will be ranked higher),
DILR sectional score (higher score will be ranked higher), Class X score (higher score will be ranked higher), Class XII score (higher score will be ranked higher),
Appearance in Class XII (recent appearance will be ranked higher), Appearance in Class X (recent appearance will be ranked higher), Date of Birth (younger candidate will be ranked higher).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Class 12 marks matter in IIM IPMAT?

Aspirants are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria of 60% in Class 12 to be eligible to take the IPMAT-Rohtak & JIPMAT exam. There is no such criteria for IPMAT Indore.

What is the structure of IPMAT & JIPMAT exams?

IPMAT & JIPMAT exams are computer-based exams; conducted online in the allotted centers.

It’s only in IPMAT-Indore that there are two kinds of questions: MCQ-type and SA-type, otherwise both IPMAT-Rohtak and JIPMAT follow a CAT exam-like structure with three sections, namely, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, & Verbal Ability.

Is the JIPMAT exam pattern any different from the IPMAT exam pattern?

The JIPMAT exam has 100 questions which are expected to be solved in 150 minutes. Whereas, both IPMAT-Indore and IPMAT-Rohtak exams last for 2 hours and have 90 and 120 questions respectively.

How many questions are there in the IPMAT-Indore exam?

IPMAT-Indore has 90 questions, which is spread across two areas: Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Within the Quantitative section of the IPMAT-Indore exam, there are two internal sections that contain MCQ-type and SA-type questions.
