ABOUT US

Marwadi Education Foundation's Group of Institutions (MEFGI) was incepted as a major organ of Marwadi Education Foundation in 2008, under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. Marwadi University is promoted by Marwadi Shares and Finance Limited (MSFL) a major stock broking company in India & Chandarana Intermediaries Brokers Pvt. Ltd. (CIBPL), a leading firm dealing in technical and arbitrage trading in Indian Stock Markets. Based on the excellence achieved, Marwadi University bill was passed in Gujarat Assembly and Marwadi University was established by Gujarat Private Universities act 9 of 2016 on 9th May, 2016.

INFRASTRUCTURE / FACILITIES

Hostel

Marwadi University Campus has separate hostels for boys and girls with all modern facilities and attached mess. The hostel mess serves fresh and hygienic food. 3 Hostel buildings with 2200 plus students occupancy capacity in rooms on sharing basis The hostels houses has a fully equipped gym and separate courts for Volley Ball, Basket Ball and Badminton. The concerned staff looks after the university assets and ensures that the hostel remains responsive all the time.

Library

There are two main libraries which make up the MU Learning Resource Centre. Specialist collections, use of up-to-date technology, and a team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff all combined to form a library which serves the Users of the Marwadi Education as well as contributes towards the research needs of the Institution, and is one of the best ICT-equipped academic libraries in the region.

SPORTS CLUB

The sporting and leisure facilities on campus are extensive. Sporting facilities include Cricket, Hockey, Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis and Table Tennis. An athletics track, as well as a multipurpose sports arena and facilities for other indoor games, is proposed. MU has drawn plans to organize various intra and inter-college competitions and tournaments in all games and sports activities every year. These include Athletics Track and Field events such as races, long/high jumps, short-put, javelin throw, discus throw etc. and numerous football, volley-ball, cricket matches and chess and carom contests. Those who excel in sports activities are given various awards, prizes, medals, and certificates.

MUSIC AND DANCE

Marwadi Education Foundations Group of Institutions ( MEFGI) has been very keen and Serious about the overall Development of the students and that is why MEFGI gives equal Importance to co-curricular activities along with the academics . There have been various co-curricular and cultural activities taken place at MEFGI technical campus during the span of last five years.

CAFETERIA

The Institute provides canteen facility located within the Institute Campus. The canteen serves breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner to the students. The Institute has separate hostel facilities for strength of more than 1000+ students. Utmost care is taken to provide hygienic delicious food and water. Strict discipline is maintained in the canteen. The institute has an extremely well-kept self service cafeteria. It caters to the students’ taste-bud and is a great place to unwind in between the hectic lecture-lab schedules. The cafeteria is a cheerful place to be in at all times. Amphitheatre

MU has a huge and beautiful amphitheatre. This has a capacity of 1000 spectators and caters to diverse needs like staging dramas, shows or concerts.

Lake & JoggingTrack
We have a pond in the campus which is surrounded by a jogging track. This is to facilitate the students and faculty residing in the campus. The total ambiance created by the powerful combination refreshes the minds of the joggers and by lookers.
Medical Room

The hostels have a first aid and primary health kit for its residents. In case of any medical emergency, we have an ambulance to take one for hospitalization, available 24 hours a day

Highly Secure

The campus has 24 hours security arrangements with fully trained guards for round the clock vigil around the campus. Our campus is equipped with latest hardware and software like: CCTV cameras , Fire security alarms

Banking Facility

We have a branch of Bank of India on the campus, which is a unique feature of MU. In addition, an ATM machine is also there, which is open 24 hours a day.

Transportation Facility

Marwadi University has got 84 drivers with 4 Mechanical Support Staff, who takes care of in total 66 buses and 14 cars. These drivers discharge their duties to commute 3000 plus students and 400 plus faculties on a daily basis to their destinations in Rajkot City and surrounding cities like Morbi, Gondal, Dhrol, Wankaner, Jasdan and enroute a number of small centers.

PROGRAMME USPs

1.Ready for the profession from day one of graduation

Emphasis on outcome based legal education so as to ensure each student gets individual attention and flourishes in the field where he/she has potential of growth. Practical training will be provided in live clinics based on current clinical legal education models employing Moot Courts, Mock Trials, Client-Consulting exercises, Negotiation simulations and Alternate Dispute Resolution workshops. These are tailor-made to inculcate professionally relevant skill-set in students from day one. Emphasis will be to enhance practical learning and application through weekly expert lectures, enrichment courses like Critical thinking, Legal writing, Professional training and extensive use of Legal Aid Clinic in association with State Legal Service Authority.

2. Credit based 8 compulsory Internships

Compulsory credit based eight Internship Programs spread across five years designed to bridge the classroom-courtroom divide. The students will be interning with an NGO in the first year exposing him/her to socio-legal issues thereby putting

In order to provide a distinctive edge to our students we equip them with knowledge of emerging areas of legal practice like Air and Space Law, Maritime Law, Sports Law, Cyber Law, Health Law, Energy Law, Water Law, Food Law, Law of War, Infrastructure Law etc. Given the scenario of globalization and transition of Indian economy to a technology driven knowledge based economy these areas of law are bound to throw up exciting new opportunities to budding lawyers. Tapping the burgeoning opportunities in these cutting-edge realms of law demands development of requisite expertise and skills, which is a prime priority of faculty of law, Marwadi University.

4. Specialization offered in Corporate Law, IPR Law, Constitutional Law and Criminal Law

Niche specialization is the norm of the day and applies to legal practice more than any other discipline. Today’s dynamic legal industry demands efficiency and competitiveness wherein a focused approach will be more rewarding than conventional general practice. Taking this into consideration we are offering Honors Specialization in Corporate Law, IPR Law, Constitutional Law and Criminal Law. Apart from compulsory papers we are offering eight additional papers in each specialization that will ensure that students get in-depth knowledge of those subjects. Students are free to opt their specialization according to their taste, which will help them in the placements and growth opportunities.

5. Placement training and Assistance

Marwadi University has established a separate division of Learning and Development which works on various aspects of overall development of a student such as Personality development, Language and Communication skills, Interview techniques, Soft skills and grooming etc so as to ensure student gets good placement. This dedicated parallel soft-skill development programme is designed to supplement the regular curriculum and acts as a finishing school, which markedly improves the employability of pass-outs. Over and above this facility which caters to students of all disciplines of Marwadi University, Faculty of Law is proposing to nurture its own dedicated placement cell which will design its own programmes to provide placement training as also enhance industry connect.

6. Academic collaboration with Foreign Universities

Academic and research collaboration with other institutions of repute opens new vistas for both faculty and students. It not only maintains a vibrant academic atmosphere but also accelerates teaching-learning process by arming faculty with state-of-art teaching tools and techniques and broadening the knowledge base of students. We have already entered into academic collaboration with IIT Chicago – Kent College of Law and in process of entering into more such MOU’s with foreign universities so that student gets knowledge of various legal systems around the world. We are under process of entering into MOU’s with Law schools from countries like USA, UK, China, Germany, Japan and also with North American countries where there is a tremendous opportunity of business tie ups with India.
