I really liked my mentor's passion to help me achieve success. It stayed the same throughout the journey. I was also happy to have a sense of personal touch provided to me by my mentor in my preparations. The sessions with Srinivas sir helped me develop flair in answering the interview questions. Also, certain information gaps were taken care of. I had taken his guidance in filling up the IIFT CV. He helped me in discovering myself to a greater extent. Interactions with him made me structure my thought process in a better way; which, in turn, gave me a lot more confidence to approach my interviews.
The sessions with Srinivas sir got me ready with a few basic questions that helped me in some of the interviews. I understood what was expected of me and my essays. He helped me understand which aspects of my life I should focus more on. Talking in an interview setting helped me be better prepared for the real interviews. For essays, it helped to have someone guide me regarding what is to be expected. Srinivas sir was available for doubts that I had; and helped organize more mock interviews. Also, the knowledge sessions and interviews with other people gave me a good perspective. It was fun; and definitely helped me in being better prepared for my interviews.
The first thing Srinivas sir did was understand who I am, my background, what I have done previously that could benefit the college or the company, etc. Based on that, I was given an idea of how the questions might be in our actual PI; and how to go about them. With multiple mock interviews and Q&A sessions, I was in a state where I could confidently attend interviews. The SOP that I had written was corrected by him at least 10 times! He used to reply to my doubts, no matter how silly or dumb they were. The more time I spent with him, the more idea I got on how to tackle questions that may be asked in the interviews.
The sessions were very helpful. Both the knowledge sessions, as well as the mock interviews, were very detailed; and helped fill up the lacuna in my arguments/objectives; which, in turn, boosted my confidence. The mocks by a diverse set of people really broaden the horizon of the interviewee. There was detailed feedback on the subjective questions, as well as on answers to common questions, which really helped a lot. Srinivas sir, by being methodical and systematic, really helped me a great deal. The program is well structured and well planned-out. The very fact that this program is called PDP, and not PI preparation program, alludes to the fact that it is much more than PI.
I am, deep down in my heart, a true gamer. I have had the gamer's instinct since my college days. The qualities that make me a good gamer are what define me as a person, as well. I am not very creative. I do not innovate too many things, but what I am good at is observing people—observing how they strategize; and then adapting them and becoming better than them. In fact, I was known for doing exactly this in my college. I have brought this to my work life, as well. I hereby take roles that involve me in transforming a chaotic environment into an organized and process-driven platform.

I am a fan of his work '1984'.
I read this book when I was influenced by Socialist ideas. The book is an extreme satire of Socialism; and it changed my perception of Socialism completely. This was a pivotal moment in my life where I was introduced to a different line of thought.
I also admire Isaac Asimov for 'The Foundation' series.
I don't have a single role model; but admire a few personalities for their character traits. I like Roger Federer, for his persistence and hard work; Virat Kohli, for his aggression; Viswanathan Anand, for his diligence; and Amit Shah, for his micromanagement and acumen.
Enjoys table tennis and badminton. His favorite sportsperson being Sachin Tendulkar
1His favorite character is Jason Bourne, as he is the child of the rigor he went through
2He would probably be a marketing professional in the gaming industry
3Loves playing online games, like the Uncharted series on his PlayStation with his kids
4To do paragliding; and to enjoy a good book at the GOT & LOTR filming locations
5A movie buff! 'LOTR', 'The Godfather', 'Baahubali' (1&2), & 'Interstellar' being a few of his favorites
