Staff Selection Commission (Combined Graduate Level) Tier I Examination 2016 - August 29, 2016, Slot II Analysis

SSC CGL Tier-I 2016 exam was flagged off on August 27, 2016. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in three time slots. For the first time, the Staff Selection commission (SSC) has introduced a Computer based Test (CBT) of 100 objective type questions to be answered in 75 minutes.


There are four sections, namely, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension consisting of 25 questions each. All sections, except the English Comprehension section are available bilingually i.e. in both Hindi and in English. Every correct answer will fetch 2 marks and every incorrect answer will reduce the score by 0.50 marks. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

The level of difficulty of this section was easy. The questions in this section were similar to last year. Answers to some of the questions could be reached by eliminating incorrect options.

This section was a tad bit difficult. The section saw a mix of questions from history, polity, geography, economics, current affairs, biology and chemistry.

Quantitative Aptitude
The section comprised questions from a variety of topics. Unlike last year, this section was dominated by Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry and DI.
