Staff Selection Commission Tier I Examination 2018: Analysis - Slot II (June 06, 2019)

SSC CGL Tier-I 2018 exam was flagged off on June 04, 2019. The exam was conducted in three time slots. It is a Computer based Test (CBT) containing 100 objective type questions to be answered in 60 minutes.

There are four sections, namely, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension consisting of 25 questions each. All sections, except the English Comprehension section are available bilingual i.e. in both Hindi and English medium. Every correct answer will fetch 2 marks and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

The level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. The questions in this section were similar to last year and the options could easily be eliminated to reach the correct answer except four questions on visual reasoning, number series, odd one out and mathematical puzzle which should have been left.

General Awareness: 
The level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. Overall, the pattern of the paper was different in comparison of the last year’s paper. The paper was dominated by Science or specially Biology and Current Affairs questions.

Quantitative Aptitude:
The level of difficulty of this section was moderate as majority of questions were calculative like Bank PO exams. The section comprised questions from a variety of topics, Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry and DI.

English Comprehension:

A majority of the questions in this section can be categorised under Vocabulary and Grammar. There was no reading comprehension passage this year. Overall, the level of difficulty of this year’s paper was easy to moderate.
