Eligibility and Admission Process

To enter ISB’s PGP and Early Entry Option batch of 2024, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, with adequate grades, completed by a recognised university. Though a graduate degree in any discipline is preferred, a technology, engineering, or science background is preferred.
  • Candidates need to write either the GMAT or the GRE. The median scores for ISB’s incoming PGP class have been around 710 for the GMAT and 326 for the GRE over recent years. However, the final cutoff applied for shortlisting varies across admission cycles.
  • To be eligible for the full-time PGP, applicants need a minimum of 24 months of full-time post-qualification work experience as of April 8, 2024. Candidates with relevant managerial experience are given more preference.
  • Under the Early Entry option, those with just 15-24 months of work experience can get conditional admission to ISB.

Do note that merely meeting the criteria does not guarantee selection, as ISB shortlists candidates based on various qualitative parameters in the application as well.

Selection Process

ISB follows a holistic evaluation process, assessing candidates across diverse parameters to determine their leadership promise and potential.

  • Academic Record: This reviews the applicants’ undergraduate marks, class rank, institute reputation, overall academic excellence, and quantitative skills.
  • GMAT/GRE Scores: High scores on these management entrance tests demonstrate analytical and verbal proficiency.
  • Essays: The quality of the essays and applications submitted is evaluated to check goal clarity, thought process, and communication capability.
  • Work Experience: The emphasis is on the career growth trajectory, increasing responsibilities taken up, relevant accomplishments, and skills gained so far.
  • Interviews: These personality discussions test for intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking ability, leadership style conformity, and overall fit with ISB’s vision.
  • Extracurricular Profile: Community service endeavours, competitive achievements beyond academics, and social leadership roles.
  • Recommendation Letter: Feedback from managers, professors, and colleagues validates claims of competence, influence, ethics, and collaborative ability.
