A Techathon is a design sprint-like event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others, often including subject-matter-experts, collaborate intensively on software projects. The goal of a Techathon is to create usable software. Techathons tend to have a specific focus, which can include the programming language used, the operating system, an application, an API, mobile application or the subject and the demographic group of the programmers. This type of events helps companies in various folds such as to create community of developers, reinvigorate a company's innovation culture and capabilities, corporate branding, IP development etc.

The expected number of participants for a particular city is about 4500. Out of which 150 teams consisting of 3 members will be selected for the final event. Which means 150 apps will be developed in one Techathon event in a particular city.
Such an event will be conducted in 5 major cities across the country. So total 750 (150*3) Apps will be developed.
Top 5 Apps out of 750 Apps will get prizes as well as seed funding for commercialization.
