Globalization & its impact on Democracy
Globalization & It's Impact On Democracy "We should keep on going along the path of Globalization. Globalization is good.... when trade stops, war comes."--Jack Ma In the 21st century globalization is an irreversible trend that brings with it a level of economic expansion, growth and accessibility that is unprecedented in the history of mankind. But it also have some demerits too, it bring problems like-: *Domination of developed countries over developing/under developed countries. *Much greater competition faced by many companies. *As opening of market for foreign companies, it brings the threat to misuse personal data and confidential things of customer country. *Local markets get demolished, as people get much higher quality foreign made goods in reasonable prices. Globalization for any country comes in a package of equal rewards and risk. Globalization is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies and organisations worldwide. Mostly modernisation, economic upliftment of a nation is mainly caused by globalization. As we know globalization also have a large impact on democracy both in a good & adverse way. What is democracy?!! Democracy is a form of government by the people, for the people and of the people. In globalization this general class or the normal people face the most adverse situations. Most of the problems, that affects these normal people mostly. In present, a very good example of devastation caused by globalization is the Covid 19 disease caused by noble Corona virus. This disease 1st occurred in China, here one aspect we can see, if globalization would not be there, the spread of Corona virus would be much slower and it would not became a pandemic. As we are talking about globalization impact on democracy, this type of disease can be used as a "biological weapon" over democracies by non democratic governments. In my point of view democracies are the most peace loving nation world wide. The democracies actually don't want any domination over them or to dominate any other government. We can see, what a democracy have but non democratic don't, that creates a adverse process by globalization. In democracy trade is barrier less and globalised, so every company can reach the root level of any country. For example let's take country India, here trade is barrier less, so many companies come and try to affect the lives of the common man. Mobile application companies/software companies creating a threat by providing confidential data to their originating countries. In present world, country with most number of nuclear weapons may not win a war but a country with more personal data of enemy country would win war. As countries with non democratic governments are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of democratic countries & also brings threats to its defence confidentiality, security of state and public orders. Another impact we can see upon democracy is the domination of non democratic country is more. Development happens rapidly in a non democratic form than in a democratic one. We can take a example of countries like China and Pakistan. As Pakistan is a democratic country & China is a non democratic one. Pakistan is a under developed country & willing to develop very fast , that's why it is dependent on a non democratic country for development and all this is due to Globalization. As democratic country has many restrictions that create an opposition for development that is exploited by the world under "Globalization". Here we discussed all the impact & aspects that can affect/ affecting a democracy, by globalization.
