Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the recruitment notification for Combined Medical Service (CMS) Exam 2021 on its official website. UPSC has released a total of 838 vacancies in the UPSC CMS Notification across various posts including Junior Scale Post, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer, Assistant Medical Officer, General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for UPSC CMS 2021 Exam through the official website of UPSC.

The UPSC CMS Exam is conducted in two stages namely:
Part 1 is a Computer-based examination (CBE) consisting of two Papers, each Paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Each Paper will be of two hours duration. Candidates who qualify in the UPSC CMS Part-1 are, then, called for Part 2 which is an Interview Round or Personality Test of 100 Marks.

The UPSC CMS Notification 2021 mentions the eligibility criteria on different parameters including educational qualification, age limit, medical fitness which is mentioned in the table below:

Candidates who have completed MBBS can apply for this post. Final year appearing students are also eligible for applying for these posts. |
Age Limit |
Candidates below 32 years of age can apply for this examination. However, for the Junior Scale post, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 years of age. |
Medical Fitness |
The candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2021 as per regulations contained in Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination. |
The UPSC CMS Exam is conducted in two phases, Part-1 and Part-2. UPSC CMS Part-1 is a computer-based online examination consisting of two papers of 250 marks each. The candidates who qualify for Part-1 are called for Part-2 which is the personality test or interview round. The interview is of 100 marks.

UPSC CMS Part-2 is a personality test or interview round wherein the candidates who are shortlisted after Part-1 are called for a personal interview. The interview is of 100 marks. The final cutoff is declared out of 600 marks.
