IIM Ahmedabad Admission Process 2025

The PGP admission process at IIM Ahmedabad (2025-27) will be carried out in 3 stages.

Round 1: Preliminary Screening

Candidates who clear CAT cut-off would be screened based on a composite score (CS), which would be composed of an academic rating score (AR) (includes 10th marks, 12th marks and work experience) and a normalized overall CAT score.

Round 2: Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI)

The best candidates with exemplary academic records and CAT scores from each academic background will be selected for the next round followed by the remaining candidates chosen on the basis of their CS score.

Round 3: Final Selection

At this stage, candidates will be separately shortlisted across each category (General/ SC/ ST/ NC-OBC/ PwD) based on their Final Composite Score (FCS).

IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria 2025

The admission process at IIM Ahmedabad is a rigorous and multi-stage evaluation designed to select the best candidates. It begins with shortlisting applicants based on their CAT scores, academic performance, and work experience. Shortlisted candidates are then invited to participate in the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

1. Eligibility Criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) or an equivalent CGPA. 
• Candidates appearing for their final year of graduation may also apply.

2. CAT Examination:

• Applicants must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted annually.

3. Shortlisting For AWT and PI:

   • Total Fee: Approximately ₹22 lakhs for the 2023-25 batch.

The merit list for IIM Ahmedabad is based on the candidate's final composite score (FCS). The formula used to calculate FCS is as follows:

IIM Ahmedabad Placement 2023-24 (Final Placements)

The placement process was conducted in two stages. The first was the lateral process, where firms interviewed students with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions. The second stage was the final placement process, where firms were grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters.

Lateral process: About 61% of the batch was eligible for lateral placements, which provided students an opportunity to optimally leverage their work experience. The lateral process included 36 firms from diverse sectors such as technology, banking, finance, consulting, analytics, etc.

The 2023 placement season at IIM Ahmedabad witnessed the participation of 188 esteemed firms, presenting around 280 roles, including pre-placement offers (PPOs). There were some well-renowned companies that played a major role in recruiting the IIMA students at their best.

A total of 389 students were eligible for placements at IIMA, with 385 students accepting offers. No data was unavailable for any student, and none of the students were still in the placement process. Four students chose not to seek placement through the institute.

Out of these, the highest CTC stands out to be INR 1.46 CPA, and a substantial increase of around 87% was observed. The Average CTC was INR 34.36 LPA, which increased about 5% compared to last year and the Median CTC with INR 18.05 LPA.
