IIM Visakhapatnam Admission & Selection Criteria

IIM-V admissions are conducted in a three-phase selection procedure. The parameters, and weightage applied are the same for all categories of candidates. A handful of aspirants are shortlisted at each phase in each category to fulfill the reservation quota for each group.

Phase 1:
All aspirants who have cleared the CAT overall & sectional cutoffs and have chosen IIM Vizag as one of their choices in the CAT form will be considered for further rounds. Candidates will receive an email and be required to submit the form along with the required documents within the stipulated time.

Phase 2:
Students who clear the phase-1 will then go through another shortlist based on a score calculated on the following parameters:

• CAT = 50
• 10th Board = 10
• 12th Board = 10
• Bachelors = 10
• Diversity = 10 {Gender (Female & Transgender)}
• Work Experience = 10

Phase 3:
Candidates who appear for the PI will be considered for this stage, where the Final Score will be calculated. Admission offers will be sent to the candidates based on their final scores. For the final score, the weights for the six components are fixed as:

• PI Score = 48
• CAT = 25
• 10th Board = 4
• 12th Board 4
• Bachelor’s = 4
• Diversity {Gender (Female & transgender)} = 5
• Work Experience = 10
