The established IIMs such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore, and Kozhikode are well-known for their high rankings, excellent faculty, exquisite infrastructure, and most importantly, extensive alumni network. In contrast to these, the newer IIMs, also known as the baby IIMs like Shillong, Rohtak, Ranchi, and Raipur, are relatively lower in terms of ranking, with lower cut-offs, placement records, and industry recognition.
As a result, many MBA aspirants typically choose XLRI over these newer IIMs due to XLRI's strong brand recognition in human resource management and business management. Despite XLRI's expertise in these fields, the older IIMs maintain an advantage over XLRI in terms of course variety, exposure, and a wide range of opportunities, along with a strong student network.
The fees may be slightly higher given that XLRI Jamshedpur is a private college. However, students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships offered by XLRI-Xavier School of Management. Therefore, even if students find XLRI Jamshedpur to be a bit costly, they can rest assured that scholarships are available to support them.
Based on the latest audited reports released by XLRI Jamshedpur, the average salary offered to the batch stood at INR 29.89 lakhs per annum, with the highest domestic offer of INR 75 lakhs per annum in the BFSI sector.
To secure admission to the PGDM course at XLRI Jamshedpur, candidates must have appeared for XAT and should have an eligible XAT score. It's important to note that the institute does not consider CAT scores for admission. On the other hand, CAT scores are accepted by IIMs and several other institutes.
