40 days prep tips for IPMAT Indore
The Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test will be conducted by IIM Indore on Jun 16, 2023. There will be two sections, QA (comprising MCQ and Short-answer format questions) and VA. The question distribution is as follows: 30 MCQs (QA), 15 Short Answer Questions (QA), and 45 questions (VA) respectively. The test duration is 2 hours. To prepare your strategy in accordance with the paper pattern and time duration, find some tips below:
> Time-saving Techniques: Learn time-saving techniques such as shortcut methods, elimination strategies, and approximation techniques to save time during the exam.
> Mock Tests: Every student that prepares for an exam must take mocks before sitting for the actual exam. This shows you your level of preparation, analyzes your performance, and identifies your strengths and weaknesses. This will help you improve your speed and accuracy.
> Avoid rot-learning study material: If you are planning to cover the majority of the syllabus in the last month, that may backfire as the syllabus is extensive. What you can do instead is revise the topics you have already covered, and study topics that are more likely to come in the exam. Review previous years' test paper patterns.
> Know which questions to attempt: An important part of attempting the paper is to avoid getting any negative markings for any of your answers. Through your mock attempts, identify your weaknesses and avoid the questions on the actual test day if it means you will save time and scores.
> Make sure to prepare for all rounds of the selection process: Getting into IPM means you have to qualify for the PI round that comes after IPMAT, as that has a significant weightage in the selection process. Additionally, your academic records also play a role in the process. Make sure to build your profile as holistically as you can.
