You have attempted some Mock CAT exams and have the scores in front of you, but what do you do with them now? How do you actually use this mock test experience to perform better in the next one? You need to SOLVE the wrong & unattempted questions in the test, & you need to ANALYZE the test.
Well, we have established some simple steps that can help you correctly analyze your performance.
> Question-wise Analysis: Go through each question you attempted and analyze why you got it right or wrong. Review the questions individually and separate them into categories based on the difficulty per question, whether you made guesses, etc. This will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and work on them accordingly.
> Identify patterns: Look for patterns in the way you attempted the questions, especially the ones you got wrong. Are you making the same mistake repeatedly? Are there certain topics or question types you need to work on more?
> Divide into Sub-sections: Review the questions from each topic to see your individual attempts based on the subsections. This will help identify the sections you need to improve.
> Observe the Time Taken: Identify the time you have taken in attempting each question and whether you got it right. Even if you did, did you take too long to attempt a question? Find ways to manage your time better and answer the questions quickly.
> Solve the Remaining Questions: Solve all the questions that you didn’t get right or missed out on to see the method required to solve them.
> Check the Methods of Experts: Review the methods used by experts while attempting the CAT mock. You might find a quicker and more efficient way to attempt the question.
> Keep Practicing: Finally, use the insights gained from analyzing your CAT mocks to guide your practice. Focus on the areas where you need improvement and practice regularly to build your skills and confidence.
Remember that analyzing CAT mocks is not a one-time activity. It is an ongoing process that will help you continually improve your performance and achieve your goals.
