CUET 2023 Exam Analysis - (5th June)

Science
Mathematics
The Mathematics (Core) exam on Day 14 was rated as moderate by most of the test takers in difficulty level. According to the students, the questions were straightforward and from the NCERT book. The questions were very similar to the Career Launcher Mocks. Questions from various topics were as follows:
Section A
- Integration: Definite and indefinite integrals (2-3 questions)
- Probability Distributions: K value was given, equal to 1 type of question (1-2 questions)
- Matrices & Determinants: Inverted metro & Application of determinant (4-5 questions)
- Linear Programming: NCERT example - super easy (1-2 questions)
Section B1
- Three-dimensional geometry: 2-3 questions
- Linear Programming: Had to find out the maximum and minimum (2-3 questions)
- Determinants: Had to find x and y for a determinant (1-2 questions)
- Application of Integrals: 4-5 questions
- Continuity and Differentiability: Match the following according to their values (1-2 questions)
- Vectors: Questions were tricky (2-3 questions)
- Probability: Independent probability case of probability, Union questions (3-4 questions)
- Inverse trigo: Find the degree type of question, Trigonometric function was there (2 questions)
Relations and Functions: Asked for the range and domain (1-2 questions)
Commerce
Accountancy
On day 14, the Accountancy paper was similar in difficulty level. Students were very much satisfied with their experience and rated the paper to be easy on the difficulty level. The questions were broadly from -
- Reconstitution of Partnership: Gaining ratio etc, Case study -admission of partner study, had to calculate the interest on drawing, capital, realization) (10-12 questions including all three chapters of partnerships)
- Analysis of financial statements: Ratio - Inventory ratio, Cash flow statement (7-8 questions)
- Accounting for Share and Debenture Capital: Case Study - 2 transactions are given and questions related to that were asked (6-7 questions)
- Accounting-Not for Profit: Match the following (Income & Expenditure statement, Element was given and where it will be recorded in the income statement (5-6 questions)
- Computerized Accounting System: What is a record for computerized accounting, Vertical analysis of another session. (4-5 questions)
Approximately half (20-25) questions were numerical, there were 7-8 questions in order and sequence (How financial statements are given - chronology, Dissolution, reconstitution of partnership, Share chronology), and 2 were case studies.
Section III: General Test
The students rated the General Test experience to be easier to moderate on Day 14. Questions were based on topics such as Mathematics & Statistics, General Awareness, Discovery & Invention, Logic & Reasoning, and Sports. The GT paper was very similar to Career Launcher Mocks with questions from -
General Awareness (12-15 questions)
- Current Affairs: 2-3 questions
- Geography: National park and state name (1-2 questions)
- Inventions and Discoveries: Quantum physics (1-2 questions)
- Polity: Jan Dhan Yojana launched in which state, committee, and legislative assembly matching (2-3 questions)
- Science: Body cell term coined in which year, disease-part match the following - (2-3 questions)
- Important Days: Gave a date and what falls on that date (2-3 questions)
- Sports: Match the following state (1-2 questions)
- History: Gautam Budhha's birthplace (2-3 questions)
Numerical Ability (22-25 questions)
- Ratio and Proportion: Partnership related were given (1-2 questions)
- Mixtures and Allegations: Simple allegation question (1-2 questions)
- CI and SI: Just Compound interest, Principal value was given and the final value was given, calculate the rate of interest (1-2 questions)
- AP & GP: 1 question on GP (2 questions)
- Probability: Red balls - 12 + x, Green Ball - 18 + x, Probability of red ball is given and asked the value of x (1-2 questions)
- Number System: 2-3 questions
- Percentage: 1-2 questions
- Statistics: Mean related question (1-2 questions)
- Time, Speed, and Distance: 7 pm starts, 5/4th speed - reaches half an hour early type question (2-3 questions)
- Area & Volume: Area of a combined rectangle (2-3 questions)
- Trigo Related: Cosec Q and Sin Q statements91 question)
Logical Reasoning (20-22 questions)
- Series: E proportional to 130, What is the value of I (2-3 questions)
- Coding: 1-2 questions
- Puzzles: 1-2 questions
- Direction: 1-2 questions
- Clocks: 0 degrees in between 5 to 6 (1-2 questions)
- Calendars: Republic Day felt on this day in 1980, Birthday on 3rd March, another person was 4 days younger than the other - 1 question
- Blood Relations: 1-2 questions
- Venn Diagram: Syllogism format (2-3 questions)
- Visual Reasoning: Complete the following figure, pattern, and recognition puzzles (3-4 questions)
- Any other: Mirror image (2-3 questions)
Overall the student’s Day 14 exam experience has been more or less easy to moderate only. Students are advised to continue their preparation as you never know how the next day or shift is going to be.
